Sam Crooks
Sam Crooks served as Mayor of Milton Keynes from 2019 to 2020 and has twice held the role of Leader of the Council. Originally from Belfast, he was an All-Ireland athletics champion. His career includes work with the Open University and professional experience in France, Pakistan, Hong Kong, and the United States.
In addition to his work as a councillor, he has served as a magistrate, a trustee of both Bletchley Park and the Parks Trust, and a member of the Police Authority. He was also the first Chair of the city’s Community Relations Council.
In retirement he’s doing a PhD but prefers talking to real people more than studying dead ones.
