Liberal Democrats on Milton Keynes Council
The Liberal Democrats, and the Liberal Party before them have had councillors on Milton Keynes borough council for decades, including being the largest group and running the council as a Lib Dem administration from 2002 to 2011.
Following the elections on 7 May 2026 for all 60 seats on Milton Keynes City Council, the Liberal Democrats hold 20 seats, and we are the largest party on the council. Councillor Jane Carr has been elected as Council Leader. The ten-member cabinet includes five Liberal Democrat councillors.
Liberal Democrats now represent areas which cover about a third of Milton Keynes. We will continue our practice of representing everyone fairly and safeguarding the most vulnerable people in our communities.
