Macsene Isles-Ahite
Macsene has lived in Milton Keynes for over 20 years. She is married with a teenage daughter, and works as a Process Engineering Consultant in the energy sector where she designs “green” technology add-ons for existing facilities.
She has been a Parish Councillor in Broughton and Milton Keynes Village Parish for over 5 years, where she works to help young people thrive. This year she has helped to secure funding and access to mental health for young people in the Parish. She looks forward to helping young people across the ward as a city councillor.
She wants to work with residents of all ages to improve life in the community and has met with people at local warm spaces, parish events, litter picking and other community events. She has worked with Oakgrove School to reduce litter along the H7, and got streetlights and potholes fixed and graffiti, litter and fly-tipping removed from across Ouzel Valley ward.
In her spare time she likes to read and is trying to write a novel.
Uroy Clarke
Uroy has lived in Milton Keynes for almost 40 years and has served as a Councillor for 11 years, currently representing Middleton and Oakgrove. Alongside his public service, he is the Cross-Campus Cluster Lead at UEL and Chair of City College London.
Locally, Uroy is a strong advocate for improving outcomes for vulnerable children. He is campaigning for more high-quality children’s homes for those in care, alongside better mental health support services. He believes that local people should be better supported to provide these services, rather than relying heavily on large external corporations.
Uroy works closely with community groups and residents and has tackled a wide range of local issues and addressing everyday concerns such as potholes, street lighting, graffiti, and fly-tipping.
Beyond his council work, Uroy is actively involved in his local church and is passionate about mentoring and supporting young people. As Shadow Cabinet Member for Equalities, Leisure and Culture, he has championed inclusive community initiatives and supported campaigns such as White Ribbon, promoting the protection and safety of women.
Jenni Ferrans
Jenni has lived in Milton Keynes for over 40 years and has been a Councillor or Parish Councillor in Monkston and Monkston Park for 22 years. She has specialised in housing and planning on the City Council. She’s got the Council to demand more family homes from developers and to include affordable homes to buy as well as to rent in future developments. She helped get funding for a feasibility study for a new balancing lake to reduce flooding. She has also persuaded the Labour Council to prepare for the new Renters Rights Act to make sure that private tenants will be able to get help from the Council from day 1 when it comes in in May. She has got free sessions on money advice and supported the service to advise on reducing energy consumption.
Locally she has tackled a wide variety of issues for residents from school places to housing assessments, litter and graffiti to blocked drains, major street light repairs, adopting land and tracing private owners to get their land maintained.
In her spare time she likes reading detective novels and works at fabric and fibre craft.
