Update on Hallam's Place
The Council’s MK2050 City Plan is about to be sent to the Government and includes some helpful policies about properly linking up the various MK East developments. I’ll be circulating a draft statement shortly so that any resident who would like to can send it to the Government in support.
I've been told informally that the Council’s Highways department have advised Hallams that they believe Broughton Grounds Lane can cope with the extra traffic. I've asked whether this is true and - if I can't get a response - will submit an FOI request.
I'd like to build on a suggestion from Stuart Palumbo that we get as many residents as possible to take part in a mass walkabout one day during the Christmas break starting at the bridge, stopping at the play area, the drainage into Brooklands Meadows and the care home site. I'm trying to locate a drone and operator to cover this and I've had an expression of interest from ITV Anglia in being there. Anyone know a (not too expensive) drone operator?
We've had some national coverage that Wing organised in the Express and MSN and we’re going to keep plugging this.
The petition’s up to 810 signatures now and will be presented to the Council on 21 January which will be live streamed. We’d like to get it up to 1,000 by then. Here’s the link if you haven’t already signed: [https://focusteamlive.co.uk/broughton-grounds-lane/](https://focusteamlive.co.uk/broughton-grounds-lane/)
Nana is contacting Sue Clark who represents Cranfield on Central Beds Council. The planned development crosses council boundaries and Hallams have said publicly that they can only proceed if they receive planning approval from both MKCC and Central Beds.
I’ll post again later in the week.
