The green spaces of Milton Keynes

23 Jan 2026

One of the things I love most about Milton Keynes is how green it is. Unlike many other towns and cities, MK was designed with nature at its heart. Our parks, lakes, and linear walks weave through every community, giving residents and visitors alike space to relax, exercise, and connect with the outdoors.

From the wide, open beauty of Campbell Park to the tranquillity of Willen Lake, our green spaces offer something for everyone. Families can enjoy picnics, children can play freely, and walkers and cyclists can travel safely along our Redways. These areas are not just recreational but are vital for our health and wellbeing. Spending time outdoors helps reduce stress, supports physical fitness, and strengthens our sense of community.

As someone who was born in Milton Keynes, I often take time to reflect on how lucky we are to have these natural assets. I enjoy walking by the lakes, where you can spot swans gliding across the water, or simply pausing in one of our many pocket parks to appreciate the greenery around us. In a fast-paced world, these spaces remind us to slow down and breathe.

But we cannot take them for granted. With pressures from development and climate change, we must continue to protect and invest in these green lungs of our city.

As your local Liberal Democrat candidate, I believe in safeguarding Milton Keynes’ unique balance of growth and greenery. Protecting these spaces means protecting our quality of life for future generations.

When we vote to preserve and enhance our parks, we are voting for healthier, happier, and more connected communities. That’s why I am committed to keeping Milton Keynes green, vibrant, and welcoming for all.
