Refugee Crisis

Many of us have been touched by the tragic events in the Mediterranean and elsewhere. Local residents want something done.

Noting the comments of the Prime Minister for the UK to fulfil its moral responsibility and give sanctuary to thousands of Syrian refugees the Liberal Democrats are moving an urgent motion at the MK Council meeting on the 16th September to advise the Government that Milton Keynes will commit to receive and support its fair share of refugee families.

We note and welcome the offer of financial help to councils from the Government.
