Lib Dems continue to keep Newport Pagnell clean & tidy
On Saturday 25 October, Councillor Tony Oyakhire teamed up with local residents to help keep the town looking clean and tidy.
Starting at Station Road Car Park, Tony and a team of local volunteers worked their way along Railway Walk and continued along further up towards the motorway services.
Together they collected around a dozen bags of rubbish, including empty bottles, food wrappers, and even springs from an old sofa.
Following the litter pick, Tony reported the collected rubbish to the City Council’s waste team, who have since removed it.
Councillor Oyakhire, who represents Newport Pagnell South, said:
“Having lived in Newport Pagnell for more than 20 years, I take great pride in how our town looks. Not only do litter picks bring us together as a community, but they also give us an opportunity to do something positive for the place we call home. We’ll be back in the new year, so please come along if you’d like!”
The next community litter pick will take place in February next year.
Families and children are very welcome to join and all equipment including litter pickers and bags will be provided.
