Barnsbury Gardens Link Footpath

My Focus Team colleagues, Cllrs Paul Alexander and Derek Eastman, and I have been campaigning for some years to get the link footpath built between Barnsbury Gardens and Green Farm Road which was in the original plans for the area.

We secured the agreement of the Council to build the footpath and managed to secure funding, only to be thwarted by the developer saying that they still owned the land.

We escalated this issue to the Chief Executive of the Council to try and break the log jam, and I am pleased to report that the developer, Taylor Wimpey, has now verbally agreed to sell the land to the Council for £1.

So, the realisation of the footpath is one very important step closer.
