£50,000 has been proposed by the Labour/Liberal Democrat Cabinet to tackle broken and missing signs as part of their budget plans, which are set to be discussed by the Full Council next month.

The funding is part of the Alliance's commitment to delivering high quality-essential services for all residents, and to keep Milton Keynes running smoothly.

Labour Councillor Lauren Townsend, Cabinet Member for Public Realm, said:

"This funding is crucial to keeping Milton Keynes looking tidy and running well. The Progressive Alliance is dedicated to improving the services our residents receive and making sure they get value for money, and this is one of the many ways we're able to do that."

Liberal Democrat Councillor Paul Trendall, who represents Campbell Park and Old Woughton ward, said:

"Residents in my ward have raised the issue of broken and missing street signs with myself and fellow ward campaigners recently, and so this funding is welcome news."

"This funding will benefit not only the residents of Campbell Park and Old Woughton, but the entire city. I look forward to seeing new and improved street and road signs in my ward and across Milton Keynes."

Councillor Townsend concluded:

"Labour and Liberal Democrat councillors are listening what our residents want, and this funding shows we're committed to delivering on our promises. Delivering high-quality essential services for the people of Milton Keynes is the Alliance's priority."
